Safety is at the foundation of our club, and every person in the netball community has a responsibility in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our members, including children and young people.
FNC and Netball Victoria are committed to promoting and protecting the rights of children, preventing abuse from occurring and fostering a culture where everyone feels safe and empowered.
We also seek to ensure the cultural safety of First Nations children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and children with a disability.
Violence of any nature towards a member of our netball community is unacceptable, including physical assault, verbal abuse and intimidation. FNC stands with any member that experiences violence in netball and will provide them with support to report, investigate and recover from an incident.

The Team Allocation Policy ensures a fair, transparent, and inclusive process for assigning players to teams within Fawkner Netball Club. The policy aims to balance individual development, team dynamics, and competition levels, while maintaining the club’s values of participation, inclusion, skill development, and enjoyment.

Fawkner Netball Club Weather Conditions Procedure

In December 2023 World Netball (WN) launched updated the Game Management and Foul Play rules. The rules changes focus specifically on player safety and game management, cautions have been removed and umpires will now advance or escalate a sanction. Unfair play, unsporting behaviour and dangerous play will result in more serious game management
Fawkner Netball Club Game Day Procedure

Netball Australia has released important updates to the concussion protocols for all levels of sport, including community netball. The new guidelines, which are designed to protect the health and well-being of all participants, are in alignment with the recent Australian Institute of Sport’s Concussion and Brain Health Position Statement. They have been prepared by Netball Australia’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Laura Lallenec in conjunction with Member Organisations, Suncorp Super Netball teams and the Australia Netball Players’ Association.

Fawkner Netball Club acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrang people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional custodians of the lands and waterways in the area now known as Merri-bek.
